To celebrate the releasing of the SPECTRUM single, the official Florence + The Machine Facebook page was asking for fans to send to them artworks inspired by the song, and so I did with this one! They chose it and posted it on the page, look: [link]

"When we first came here We were cold and we were clear With no colors in our skin We were light and paper thin
And when we first came here we were cold and we were clear With no colors in our skin 'Til we let the spectrum in
Say my name and every color illuminates We are shining and we will never be afraid again
And when we come for you, We'll be dressed up all in blue With the ocean in our arms, Kiss your eyes and kiss your palms
And when it's time to pray We'll be dressed up all in grey With metal on our tongues And silver in our lungs
Say my name and every color illuminates We are shining and we will never be afraid again!
And when we come back we'll be dressed in black And you'll scream my name aloud And we won't eat and we won't sleep We'll drag bodies from their graves!
Say my name and every color illuminates We are shining and we will never be afraid again!" ("SPECTRUM", by Florence + The Machine)

This one was dusting in my computer since February, and it's actually the 3rd and final version for this song. I decided to finish it for once, since I wanted to see it done and because I need some bright colors in my life at the moment.
Well, this is my rendition to Florence + The Machine's SPECTRUM, such an amazing, lovely, weird song I honestly have no idea of what in the heck she really means with these lyrics, they sound very surrealistic to me, hum BUT, even with these obscure metaphors, I can see by the chorus, by the tone she's singing and by the context of the whole Ceremonials album that this song is about being released from a very difficult situation / period, and about freedom and trusting (yourself / someone). I highly recommend you to listen to it, you will see what I mean - and because it's such a kicking-ass song
I wanted to convey this ultimate happiness and relief I feel from it, all the colors bursting from her heart and soul through her powerful voice. She's colorless because all the colors mixed together equals the white light.
("SPECTRUM", by Florence + The Machine)

ART (c) ME, ~CelticBotan SPECTRUM (c) Florence + The Machine FLORENCE WELCH (c) Mr. and Mrs. Welch, that wizards. I bet my socks that they put a spell on one of those pre-raphaelites paintings and BAM!, Florence was born. I'm 100% certain that this is how her conception was like.
OMG! This is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen! This is one of my most favorite songs, and Florence Welch is one of my most favorite singers! This picture is so beautiful and colorful that it captures the imagination. It really suits well with the background of the song. Well done excellent job! You should be very proud of yourself!
Ugh, Spectrum is just one of her best songs ever, I'm glad I could came up with an idea for it - I'd love to paint tributes for songs like Breath of Life and Leave My Body, for example, because I really love them but the ideas just didn't came up yet =T Maybe in the future though ^^
Yeah I used to do digi art about songs I like but I stopped because...I don't know I guess it just lost the spark. Oh well! I'm getting a Florence CD soon, as I'm a new fan, which one do you think is good to get?
I understand... well, it happens sometimes =O Well, she just has two albuns so far and both are pretty good, but I think the second one, Ceremonials, is the best for her songs really have a direction - the first one has good songs, but you can see she was a little lost regarding the kind od music she wanted to sing, haha.
Thanks a lot, dear! ^^
THank you so much, dear!
